	Broken "Pro Hunter" hammer I have seen a lot of broken Encore hammer spurs, but this is the first time I have ever seen one break here in the main body of the hammer. You can see from the face of the hammer it shows no abuse from dry firing, and overall, the frame does not appear to have seen a lot of use, nor is it clear whether the hammer broke in use or if it left the factory in that condition. No "fresh" bare metal can be seen. It appears the metal in the break is blued, meaning it most likely left the factory with the gaping crack. Quite interesting, to say the least.
	Side View What is the remedy? The crack may or may not propagate with use left as it is, but since fit of the sear in the curved area is important in keeping the hammer at half cock, from a liability standpoint it is best to maintain the original shape. The crack could be welded and the hammer put back in service, but at this point I am recommending replacement with a new hammer.
