.44 GP is the step up to .444 Marlin ballistics from a 1.8" straight wall case.

Description

The "GP" stands for General Purpose, using a wide variety common brass cases.
The .44 GP first off meets state deer regulations for straight wall case, 1.8" maximum case length.
It shares the same approximate .470" case head diameter common to a vast number of both rimless and rimmed cartridges such as rimless .308 Win and .30/06 based cartridges, rimmed .444 Marlin and .307 & .356 Winchester brass, and uses common standard reloading dies you may already have. NO custom dies required. Use a .444 Marlin size die and a .44 Magnum seat die. Simple as that!
Throated long for seating bullets out and creating enough case capacity to essentially duplicate .444 Marlin ballistics and superior accuracy. Think 6.5x55 Swede vs the shorter, long throated 6.5 Creedmoor for example. The former is a relatively low pressure cartridge, the Creedmoor is modern high pressure and throated long for seating bullets farther out.
Between case capacity gained in the 1.8" case seating .44 bullets out farther and the higher pressure limits of the Encore frame, .44 GP can essentially duplicate or exceed standard .444 Marlin lever gun ballistics.
Accuracy with my throating gives varmint rifle accuracy from big bore cartridges.
Form and shorten brass yourself or if you are not into such work, I offer the service of shortening, and prepping YOUR brass, new OR "range brass."

NOTES:
Kept at Contender pressure levels, .44 GP is great for Contenders as well since parent cases have thicker/stronger case webs for higher pressure than the thin walled .44 Mag and .445 Super Mag, whose availability is limited to just one source with sketchy availability.

A CYNICAL NOTE:
The firearms industry is great about bringing out all the latest, greatest new cartridges, followed by reduced demands for the ammo or brass to feed small niche markets, and thus leaving shooters with guns they can't shoot. NOT SO WITH .44 GP!
YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SOURCE OF BRASS FOR .44 GP!

CONTENDER SHOOTERS, PAY ATTENTION:
The standard scope base hole depth for Contenders WAS .135" until the "G2" barrels came out with the hole depth .150", making the chamber wall under the screw holes too thin for .470" case head diameter chambers. DO NOT SEND G2 BARRELS FOR RECHAMBERING FOR .470" CASE HEAD BASED ROUNDS. .30/30 WIN. .375 WIN. AND 6.8 SPS BASED CASES ARE THE MAXIMUM SIZE I WILL CHAMBER TO IN G2 BARRELS.

ALSO, I should add, .44 GP was originated as rimless on a Mauser action, thus suitable for bolt action rifles.
