HD Centerfire Firing pin for G2 and Easy Open Contender
NEW ITEM centerfire firing pin g2 and easy open contender
PROUDLY MADE IN USA!
New Bellm HD firing pins are made to last from S7 steel. S7 is a shock resisting tool steel with excellent toughness and high strength, along with medium wear resistance. It has maximum shock resistance and high compression strength, which gives it good deformation resistance in use, while retaining good toughness. An ideal metal choice for a firing pin, very difficult to machine without experience requiring a special heat treatment after machining. Precision manufactured to an incredible tolerance on swiss screw machines, our firing pins are not only a direct upgrade but virtually un breakable. TIPS: Anyone can replace, no gunsmith needed. With barrel removed from receiver, hold the interlock back on the inside right of frame on G2 or middle of inside on Contender to allow cocking of hammer. Remove flat headed Firing pin bushing screw, located on outside of frame directly below where hammer impacts firing pin. The firing pin bushing, firing pins, and firing pin return springs removes from inside of frame as unit, if stuck due to improper cleaning I use a small 3/32 pin punch through firing pin bushing screw hole and lightly tap out being careful not to damage threads inside bushing. Now is a great time to clean and replace worn firing pin return spring with BELLM Contender firing pin return springs also sold below. Rimfire firing pin goes on top, centerfire on bottom. Rimfire has a flat tip, centerfire is pointed.Firing pin in picture on left is Center fire (pointed tip) firing pin on the right is Rimfire (flat tip)NOTE: Due to the many changes in production and tolerance to the Contender over the years, these may require gunsmith type fitting if the firing pin is not able to retract flush or below bushing. Generally accomplish by carefully removing length of tip on grinder.
