Contender FIRING PIN BUSHING.
Replace your worn, corroded or flame cut firing pin bushing with our Hardened steel firing pin bushing.
Designed to fit SSK-50 firearm platforms Made from A2 Tool Steel, hardened to Rc52 Black Nitride finish.
Also compatible with most TC Contender® and G2 Contender frames, but due to their extreme dimensional variation, we cannot guarantee this.
Replacement is fairly simple. With the barrel off the receiver, we have found that it's best to have the hammer removed. (Be sure to watch our Youtube video on replacing the hammer spring)
Using the appropriate width flat blade bit carefully remove the firing pin bushing screw being careful not to strip the head. Down force is the key. Don't worry if the head gets stripped or chipped
we do sell a replacement but you have to remove it to replace it so BE CAREFUL not to damage it.
Once the screw has been removed the bushing, firing pins and springs come out of the front of the frame. Clean and inspect the firing pins for replacement, always a good idea to replace any OEM firing pins
with our S7 firing pins, and new springs.
With the firing pins in place, rimfire on top centerfire on bottom, carefully insert the bushing into the bushing cavity aligning the threads of the bushing to the screw hole on the back of the frame. Tighten the bushing
screw, replace the hammer, again a new hammer spring is always a good idea.
Job done.
