The new design Encore, G2, and Contender hammer extension uses a total of 3 set screws, 2 keyed into the grooves on the top of the hammer and the traditional screw from the side.Slots are centered in the extension, and the extension body is round instead of square like the older designs.
FITS ENCORES and G2 HAMMERS ...... MEANING, IT FITS ALL VINTAGES OF HAMMERS IN THE BREAK OPEN LINE EXCEPT THE WIDER OLD STYLE CONTENDER HAMMERS WITH NO SAFETY OR THE SQUARE SLIDING CROSS BOLT SAFETY. Comes with Hammer spring for Encore or G2 only.
(See Contender Hammer Extensions for extensions to fit the old models with the wider hammer spur.)
Over tightening the set screw may bend the rather thin hammer spur shank. Our design makes it unnecessary to use excessive force tightening the main set screw on the side.
TIRED OF CHEAP, "ONE SIZE FITS ALL" HAMMER EXTENSIONS THAT SIT TILTED ON THE GUN? THE TWO SET SCREWS ON TOP LET YOU ADJUST THE HAMMER EXTENSION SO IT FITS LEVEL WITH THE GUN.
This kit adds your choice of our HD hammer spring. Which one to choose? I recommend the 44# HDHS for almost all applications where trigger pull has NOT been reduced to 2lbs or less and not shooting hard primered military ammo. If mis fires have been a problem and you are not correcting headspace, the 51 lbs may be a better choice with the above in consideration. TC Encore/Prohunter & G2 Triple Lock Hammer Extension--
THE NEW "TRIPLE LOCK" HAMMER EXTENSION DESIGN.TWO SET SCREWS ENGAGE THE GROOVES IN THE TOP OF THE HAMMER SPUR TO LOCK THE EXTENSION IN PLACE! CANNOT SLIDE FORWARD! Since the factory hammer springs may be only marginally strong enough in some situations with the added weight of a hammer extension, be sure to see our Extra Strength, Speedlock hammer springs, available with.
FITS LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE, I'm right handed and prefer the extension off to left side of the hammer.
Choose your hammer spring from the drop down menu. I suggest the 44# hammer spring for almost all applications that hasn't had the trigger pull dropped below two pounds of pull, 51# spring for applications below two pounds of pull or harder military primers.
